This new hood bills itself as the “world’s first post-car real estate developer”.
Plans 167 rowhouse-size apartment buildings broken up by wide pedestrian malls.
Area is half-acre park where residents can walk their dogs and stage picnics.
Project is an “infill” development that aims to sleeve itself into urban landscape.
Seeks to be Master-planned community similar to Disney or a golf-and-condos parcel in FL.

STATS:
Walk Score index ranks Phoenix as the second-worst big city for pedestrians.
Apartments start at about $1,000 a month for a studio & $2,200 for 3-bedroom,

Founders Ryan Johnson and Jeff Berens say they want to provide people the option of living a car-free lifestyle.
