SITUATION:
2nd horse dies in 2 days in May at Santa Anita Park
A 4-year-old colt with five first-place finishes in 14 career races has died
Second & 3rd racehorse death in the 6 days.
The clock is ticking fast on horse racing in general;
Eight more horses have died from racing or training injuries at Santa Anita.

SOLUTIONS:
Widespread debate about safety issues at the track & horse-racing in general
The uproar led to procedural and veterinary oversight changes at the park.
Animal Wellness Action lobby to stamp out cruelty in American horse racing;
Not racing undeveloped young horses would be an outright solution;
Economic, cultural, & financial prevent this cease and desist,
